Welcome to painsomnia! The place where pain makes it impossible to sleep, so I lay here awake torturing myself with thoughts because only the negative ones seem powerful enough to distract from the pain!
Turn over, it's hurting to lay that way, turn back over, try ice, try heat, get up and try something to eat. Check Facebook, check again, look for a distraction from the pain and now the negative thinking too.
Kick the the blankets off, it is to hot. Roll over now pull the blankets on. Did I lock the front door, oh it hurts my hands to try to rub my calves!
Read, cannot concentrate, eyes blur and now and headache is coming on.
dozing, dozing, dozing- turn over shooting pain in my hip! Wide awake. Prop the pillows, adjust the blankets, ouch that hurts, prop the pillows under legs.
Think, think a thought to distract from the pain..
This goes on for hours or all night!
